This tour will give you the chance to discover Roman Era underground water reservoirs of istanbul.
At the Old city of Istanbul, there is hidden treasure beneath the streets,Roman architecture originally designed to be a holding place for water, now they vary from being dry to hold a small amount of Water creating an underground ‘' CİSTERN '’.
The best examples of closed space are the Yerebatan and Binbirdirek cisterns. The biggest closed space Cistern in Istanbul, Yerebatan, was built by 7,000 workers with the order of Justinian I after the Nika revolt in 532 A.D. It is also called the Basilica Cistern, as it was built with the remainings of a basilica,(Hagia Sophia) which was destroyed during a fire in 475 A.D. It is the most visited cistern today and hosts many national and international events as Well.

We Will Start To Our Tour From Our Office Which is Located Just Behind The BASILICA CISTERN which will be our first target.Where we will also see The Serpentine Head Of Medusa Statue.Fallowing The Basilica Cistern Your Tour Guide Will Take You To another Cistern Which is restored recently and used actually as a underground Restaurant. SARNIÇ RESTAURANT
Than We will continue to the BINBIRDIREK CISTERN to admire to the Ancient Roman Architecture.
After a Short tea ,coffe Break Near The Grand Bazaar we will visit SEREFIYE CISTERN which was built at the time of Byzantine Emperor Theodosius II between 428 A.D. and 443 A.D. and was restored by the Istanbul Municipality for cultural life.
We will finish our Istanbul Underground Exploring with the Latest Discovery of HIPPODROM SQUARE CISTERN.
